Evan Sayet, actor, producer, comedian and author speaks about his latest book: The Kinder Garden of Eden: How The Modern Liberal Thinks. Mr. Sayet comments on his 2007 speech at the Heritage Foundation which is considered to date, “the single most viewed video” accumulating ca. 1Million viewers! He considers himself a 9/13 Republican and quips: “first time you think, the last time you are a Democrat..” Jesting aside, he points to the left’s mania of always “siding with evil,”  known for their “pro anti-Israel stand, against freedom of speech, freedom of Religion…” Mr. Sayet comments about David Horowitz’ book, “Rule for Radicals,” which shows how to succeed in defeating your opponents with ridicule and cites Governor Romney’s (and the Right’s) depiction of President Obama as a decent man promoting the wrong policies, while the left portrayed the Governor as “incompetent, who kills people and dogs…”

Immigration Reform. The Crisis at the Border. Peter Roff, contributing editor at U.S. News & World Report.

 

Mr. Roff is also the  former  senior political writer for United Press International, and is  now affiliated with several public policy organizations including Let Freedom Ring, and Frontiers of Freedom. His writings have been published in National Review, Fox News and other periodicals. He speaks to RARadio  about the “humanitarian crisis” on the border, the Administration’s inaction and the Republicans’ opportunities in tackling “immigration reform,” with “existing laws.”  Mr. Roff stresses that “illegal immigration and protecting the border” are separate issues. Mr. Reed joined the Friedman Foundation in February 2010 as State Programs and Government Relations Director, a role he held till March 2012.” In that role, Mr. Reed coordinated the Foundation’s efforts to prepare target states for the introduction of school choice. Previously, Mr. Reed  served as Education Task Force Director for the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). Mr. Reed speaks to RARadio about the  yearly release  of the Foundation’s Polls (The Schooling in America Survey)  on June 26, 2014.   Mr. Reed speaks of the controversial findings…that  parents  feel that “too much focus is placed on standardized tests,” and there is “ intense and growing opposition to Common Core…” He also notes that more than 6 in 10 Americans support school vouchers, pointing to 74% of African Americans and 72% of Hispanics.  Mr. Reed explains the types of survey questions…

Award winning investigative reporter, Mark Flatten speaks to RARadio, on the “the string of preventable deaths at veterans’ hospitals and the persistent backlogs in processing disability claims…” Mr. Flatten comments on the latest developments and the “monumental event” in the American Legion’s call for the “ouster of VA Secretary Eric Shinseki and two of his deputies.” (The last time the American Legion called for a cabinet official’s resignation was in 1941) Mr. Flatten notes how  the VA hospitals and medical facilities were “cooking the books…” with “the use of scheduling tricks to hide …backlogs in patient care,”  causing the death of many a patient by this action. Pointing to the fact that this should be  a  “bipartisan” issue, Mr. Flatten mentions the “several pieces of legislation” presented to correct some of the problems, for example “a  bill amendment passed by the House that would ban bonuses for senior executives with the Department of Veterans Affairs,” and whose responsibility was the “administration” of those centers throughout the country.

He is the author of the book “When the White House Calls”, and regularly writes commentaries on Africa and the Middle East.  He speaks to RAradio and discusses the latest developments in Russia-Ukraine-Crimea region and the repercussions for the US and the world.  Describing Putin as a  “Stalin protege…” (KGB) Ambassador Price comments on Putin’s support of Syrian dictator, Bashar Al Assad, and the problems that Russia has with the extremists and jihadists, in Chechnya.  For the Ambassador, “we need Putin’s cooperation in solving the Syria crisis, Iran…”

George Landrith has served as the President of Frontiers of Freedom since 1998. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was Business Editor of the Virginia Journal of Law and Politics. He had a successful law practice in business and litigation. In 1994 and 1996, Mr. Landrith was a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from Virginia’s Fifth Congressional District. Mr. Landrith is an adjunct professor at the George Mason School of Law.

Dr. Landrith explains how to  properly and (astutely) deal with the immigration problem… As an example, he points to the visa program such as  “US-VISIT,”which has  been in place for several years and is supposed to do two things:  gather biometric information on every foreigner entering the country so they can be  tracked  when entering and exiting the country.  Forty, (40%) of illegal immigrants in the United States are foreigners that have overstayed their visas. If the government had the ability to track people who have overstayed their visa, American could significantly reduce the number of illegal immigrants in the US….”

Dr. Coulson, Director of the Center for Educational Freedom at the Cato Institute, a non-profit, non- partisan public policy research organization speaks of his recently released study on “State Education Trends” and the controversial findings…the “flat” academic performance of public high school students  in all 50 States from 1972-2012 despite the 120% – 200% increase in  government funding over the years  taking into consideration demographics and other factors… Responsibilities…from the Government to politicians…, stating that “what our officials have been doing (for 2 generations!) has not been effective.” Dr. Coulson points to the fact that “there is no correlation between spending and performance…” giving examples.   In his Report, Dr. Coulson uses the “SAT score averages for factors such as participation rate and student demographics, which are known to affect outcomes, then validates the results against recent state-level National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) test scores. This produces continuous, state-representative estimated SAT score trends reaching back to 1972.
